Surveillance Systems

A complete camera surveillance system has a few components.

1. A DVR-This is where the video is stored. It is stored onto a hard drive within the Digital Video Recorder. 

2. Surveillance Cameras- Cameras capture the video. The type of surveillance camera you choose is very important. To learn more about the types of surveillance cameras click here. 

3. Cables- Cables for analog surveillance cameras generally use rg59 cables. IP cameras generally use cat5 cables, which is called PoE: Power over ethernet. 

4. A Monitor

These are the basic components of a surveillance system.
